Nicole Kidman Prompts Olympians' Sail to Victory

Nicole Kidman's got the golden touch.

A phone call from the Australian actress helped spur two of her countrymen to victory Monday in the men's 470 class sailing competition at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, gold medal winner Malcolm Page tells Melbourne's Herald Sun.

After making tracks in the preliminary rounds, Page, partner Nathan Wilmot and their 4.70-meter-long fiberglass dinghy—named the Australia, after Baz Luhrmann's upcoming epic starring Kidman and Hugh Jackman—also finished first in yesterday's medal race, beating out teams from Great Britain and France for the top spot on the podium.

But despite their nautical tribute to Kidman, Page says that he didn't get to speak to her when she first rang him up because he saw the unknown number and let her call go to voice mail.

Jennifer Lopez Talks Triathlon

New mom and Self’s Most Inspiring Woman of 2008 Jennifer Lopez was on Good Morning America today talking twins and triathlon training.

About her triathlon plans, she had this to say: “It actually came up when I was about 8 months pregnant and I was beached like a whale. I was watching TV and I saw a triathlon and I said, ‘You know what? I think I could do that, that would be great for me to do. Maybe I’ll do it this year.’ ”

And seven months later, she’s ready to swim, bike and run in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon this Sept. 14—for charity, of course.

Now on to the stuff we really care about—babies!

As the Summer Olympics heat up, we can't help but wonder if Hollywood might make a biopic or two about some of Beijing's A-list athletes.

While it's kinda obvs Brad Pitt would play Australian boxer Brad Pitt, we're more concerned with who'd play Team USA's record-breaking, 10-time medal-winning, all-around cutie Michael Phelps.

With his boy-next-door, all-American good looks, we proudly put our favorite Office employee, John Krasinski, on the podium.

What do you think? Are there other Tinseltown-Olympic look-alikes? Go for the gold in the comments!

Just in time for China's moment in the spotlight, some of the biggest voices in showbiz are taking another stand on behalf of Tibet.

Sting, John Mayer and Dave Matthews are among the rockers lending their musicianship to Songs for Tibet, an all-star album intended to draw more attention to the Asian province's ongoing struggle for national sovereignty.

The album, which will also feature tunes by Alanis Morissette, Moby and Garbage, will have a global release on iTunes Aug. 5, three days before the 2008 Summer Olympics get underway in Beijing. Hard copies will hit stores Aug. 12.

"We wanted to express our support for the Tibetan people and their message of peace through music, a fundamental means of expression, at a time when the eyes of the world are on China," said the Art of Peace Foundation's Michael Wohl, whose Dalai Lama-supporting nonprofit is behind the CD project.

ESPYs Not Just Athletes, Fashionistas Also Welcome

David Beckham, Victoria Beckham AP Photo/Matt Sayles

The ESPYs have something to do with sports, which isn't exactly our strong suit here. But look, pretty dresses! Now there's something we're into. We've rounded up some of the fashionable famous faces we recognized in the sea of athletes on last night's red carpet.

Oh, Posh and Becks, you've really out-fabulous-ed yourselves this time. We don't mean to offend the antiPosh out there, but Victoria is perfectly channeling Audrey Hepburn's Breakfast at Tiffany's days in this pale yellow Roland Mouret number. And yes, she had to keep the sunglasses on, they make the look.

And they weren't the only ones looking fab in the name of sports...

Just making sure the paparazzi aren't on A-Rod's payroll…

The estranged wife of New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez has demanded that her hubby's camp come clean on whether it's made any attempts to have her followed or to listen in on her conversations to add fuel to their already fiery divorce proceedings.

According to a routine motion filed last week in Miami-Dade Circuit Court, Cynthia Rodriguez is asking for any tape recordings, photographs, reports from investigators and all other evidence of shadowing "or other electronic surveillance conducted by [Alex] or others on [his] behalf." Golf With Morgan Freeman Clubs Angelina's Jacket

Morgan Freeman Mathew Imaging/WireImage.com

Sharing threads with Angelina Jolie? Hot. Sharing a tee time with Morgan Freeman? Way hot!

A round of golf with the sonorous thesp sold for $49,000 earlier this month in an online auction benefiting hurricane relief victims, nearly five times as much as the winning bid for the sleek leather jacket Jolie wore in her new action flick, Wanted.

Her assassin's black zip-up from the film, which also stars Freeman, ultimately fetched $10,300.

The $2,722 per hole it's costing some philanthropic soul to hit the links with the Oscar-winning 71-year-old also includes a rainproof golf outfit and a set of spanking-new clubs, but still—it shows you can't underestimate the value of making small talk with a guy who's played God.

Not that he and Jolie were competing with each other.
