Felicity Huffman's Desperate Smackdown

More from Marc Malkin

Did Felicity Huffman really hit 11-year-old Rachel Fox while shooting last Sunday’s episode of Desperate Housewives—and will the slap come back to haunt her during the upcoming two-hour season finale?

Either way, Rachel ain’t spillin’.

But no need to call Child Protective Services. It was all part of a day’s work when Huffman’s Lynette Scavo smacked her evil stepdaughter, Kayla, played by Rachel.

When I asked Rachel this morning just how real the slap was, she laughed, “Did it look real to you?”

When I told her it did, she simply said, “Good.”

And that's not the only thing she's clamming up about...

Miley's Got Milk

Miley Cyrus miley.bodybymilk.com

Miley Cyrus is back in front of the camera, only this time for a much more wholesome cause. And not, it seems, a moment too soon.

Disney's tween queen is the latest celeb to don a dairy 'stache for the ubiquitous Got Milk? campaign.

Titled "Girl Power," the ad, a necessary and well-timed departure from her Vanity Fair photo session, reads: "Actress by day. Rocker by night. I've got to keep fit to keep up. So I drink milk. Some studies suggest that teens who choose milk over sugary drinks tend to be leaner and the protein helps build muscle. It's the best of both worlds."

With any luck, Cyrus' milk campaign won't just build bones—it'll also assuage some achy-breaky parent hearts.

Miley: Give Peace a Chance

Miley Cyrus Thornton/Mauceri/INFphoto.com

We've really missed the two-fingered flashings since Miley Cyrus moved to Nashville to shoot the Hannah Montana movie.

(Apparently, the town's in short supply of red carpet opportunities—or coffee shops, which prompted plenty of java-fueled peace offerings in Hollywood.)

But as today's on-set sighting proves, the harmony-loving tween queen is still spreading the good word.

May we return the gesture with a special photo gallery of stars who love the peace symbol—and positive attention—just as much as Miley does.

Miley Cyrus Has "7 Things" to Say

Miley Cyrus Stefan/Aguilar/INFDaily.com

Before she was a green-bra-flashing, nude-back modeling symbol of all that is wrong with America, Miley Cyrus was a singer. And now she’s got a new song!

If you can properly download the plug-ins for this site, you (a) will be able to hear "7 Things" and (b) will prove yourselves to be smarter than us (not a terribly difficult feat, so don’t gloat).

Judging by the lyrics, Miley got her heart hurt pretty bad—but can’t wait to go back for more:

“And the seventh thing I hate the most that you do / You make me love you.”

Aw, Miley. Who is this jerk? Meet us for an Ice Blended, and we’ll chat...

Osmond Blasts Cyrus' Siring Skills

Pot, meet kettle.

Marie Osmond, that doll-making savior of Middle America, has uncharacteristically lashed out at Billy Ray Cyrus' parenting skills in the wake of daughter Miley's back-baring photo flap.

"My parents never, never left us alone," the little-bit-country one told AOL Television. "We always had some form of a guardian or something with us, a guardian that would represent what they would have done. But in [Miley's] case, her dad stepped out [of the photo session], and that's when it happened.

"How do you say no to somebody like Annie [Leibovitz] when you're a little girl? It's an interesting thing that happened with her."

Also interesting, perhaps at least to Cyrus, is that Osmond's own adopted teenage son checked himself into rehab just last year.

In his defense, when there's no form of a guardian around—when they're busy, say, fainting on national television—it's hard to say no to somebody like Jack [Daniels].

Miley Sends Shout-out to "Amazing" Fans

Miley Cyrus was fully dressed and ready for her close-up Saturday night.

Performing onstage for the first time since last week's Vanity Fair photo flap, the Hannah Montana star headlined a Disney-sponsored concert in Orlando, and thanked her screaming minions for their support.

"First of all, I think all of us here can say thank you," she said before beginning her set. "I can't think of how many would stand in the rain to come in here. Thank you all for coming out tonight, you're all amazing."

Miley Turns Her Back on Destiny

Miley Cyrus FAME PICTURES

All Hope is gone for Miley Cyrus. All Destiny, too.

The slightly tarnished Disney star is about to find out what exactly is in a name, as a Los Angeles judge officially signed off on her moniker switch this morning, legally waving goodbye to Destiny Hope Cyrus and ushering in the official era of Miley Ray. (Check out the court docs.)

Hopefully, not a moment too late.

The name change petition was first filed on behalf of the 15-year-old on March 14 by parents Billy Ray and Leticia Cyrus in Los Angeles Superior Court.

As for justification for the request, the couple wrote that "Destiny Hope Cyrus has been commonly known as Miley Cyrus since she was a young child. The change of name is requested to make her commonly used name the same as her legal name."

Finally, a Cyrus parenting decision Disney can get behind.

Miley Cyrus' Half Brother Scares Us a Little

Think the Cyrus family is scandalized by Miley’s bare back? That’s nothing. Take a look at this video of Miley’s half brother Trace Cyrus. The kid looks like he took a nasty spill at a paint-and-metal-spike shop and hasn’t recovered since.

Weird thing is, he bears a striking resemblance to his half sister, if you look past the tats and facial piercings. He’s even a musician (albeit for a band you’ve never heard of, Metro Station).

But we love that Smiley Miley has a black-sheep brother. Maybe they could get in an act together. You know, Hannah Montana and Tommy Tennessee. She could teach him how to get in touch with his spunky inner child, and he could teach her...um, how to shoplift from Hot Topic.

Is Miley Cyrus Good for Sex and the City?

More from Marc Malkin

Not everyone has a problem with Miley Cyrus naming Sex and the City as her favorite show.

“It’s awesome,” hunky Sex star Jason Lewis said last night at Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills during a kickoff cocktail soiree for the upcoming Chrysalis Butterfly Ball. “A Miley Cyrus endorsement means everything...She seems like a pretty mature 15-year-old.”

And how.

But Cyrus wasn’t the only headline maker on people’s minds during the fete...

Move Over, Miley?

More from Marc Malkin

Is the onscreen competition between Miley Cyrus and fellow tween Disney sensation Selena Gomez about to get real?

I’m told Disney executives are so worried about Cyrus’ recent controversies that, more than ever, they want to make Gomez an even bigger star.

The 15-year-old Gomez now stars in the Disney Channel hit Wizards of Waverly Place, but last year she appeared on two episodes of Hannah Montana as Mikayla, one of Hannah’s pop star rivals.

Hannah Montana Crisis Fits the Bill

Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour Nancy Kaszerman/ZUMA Press

Her name may be Hannah Montana, but Minnesota is clearly more her state.

While Miley Cyrus is hiding out through her latest PR rough patch, her alter ego—with a little help from the state legislature—is doing her best to make parental amends enough for the both of them.

Minnesota has become the first state to overwhelmingly pass the so-called Hannah Montana bill, making it a gross misdemeanor to use, own or sell computer programs that enable vendors to buy up blocks of tickets for concerts or other major events before the rest of public.

The bill was inspired by last summer's Hannah Montana mania, when tickets for Cyrus' double-billed Best of Both Worlds Tour were snapped up within minutes and resold on ticket-exchange sites at exorbitant prices.

A similar measure failed to pass muster in Florida this week, possibly becoming the deciding factor in the state's all-important (yet sadly ineligible) tween vote. Although Democrats backed the bill, calling it a pro-consumer issue, Republicans put the kibosh on the measure, claiming it was antibusiness.

Looks like it's Obama for Hannah.

Another Miley Mea Culpa

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus isn't the only one who's sorry about her bedsheet-donning photo flap.

Annie Leibovitz, the photographic auteur who conceived and ultimately snapped the controversial shot for Vanity Fair's glossy pages, has issued a mea culpa of her own—not for the image itself, mind you, but for the public's faulty impression of said shot.

"I'm sorry that my portrait of Miley has been misinterpreted," Leibovitz said in a statement released by the magazine. "Miley and I looked at fashion photographs together and we discussed the picture in that context before we shot it.

"The photograph is a simple, classic portrait, shot with very little makeup, and I think it is very beautiful."
