Don't get us wrong: If we were a Desperate Housewife with a blind (and kinda chubby) husband, we might not put as much effort into our appearance as our supermodel days.

But just because Eva Longoria Parker's Gaby is now a caregiver and mom, does she really have to forgo makeup and choose Mossimo over Manolo?

Look, if we wanted to see fugly women on TV, we'd flip over to Bridezillas, whose sloppy stars have moustaches and stuff. And they're not even married yet.

But we tune into D.H. to watch glamorous women lie, cheat, steal and do yoga on their front porch to seduce underage handymen. So really, we don't care if she's frumpy for a reason. Bring back our coutured and made-up Gaby—and for god's sake, give her a blowout—even if it means one of Bree's kids has to run over Carlos.

The race to the podium just got a little spicier.

The nominations for the 2008 ALMA Awards, honoring Latinos' contribution to entertainment, were announced today, and while Eva Longoria Parker will once again be pulling double duty as ceremony host and executive producer, she was surprisingly absent from the list of contenders, failing to score a nomination for her performance on Desperate Housewives.

The snub is unlikely to put a damper on the celebration, however, as plenty of other big-name contenders did get an early morning name check, including the cast of Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy's Sara Ramirez, Lost's Jorge Garcia, Scrubs' Judy Reyes, The Office's Oscar Nuñez , Battlestar Galactica's Edward James Olmos and Longoria's Housewives costar Ricardo Chavira.

Blame bloat, not babies.

Eva Longoria Parker and Uma Thurman are insisting that, despite rampant speculation and unflattering photo ops to the contrary, the only buns in their respective ovens are of the carb-heavy variety...Though they may start thinking about scaling back after the latest round of reports.

Both actresses have been forced to deny rumors that they're pregnant, gossip which gained a life of its own after both typically svelte stars were pictured looking ever-so-slightly less svelte than usual.

After five stints as the face of pixilated basketball in France, the actress' two-time NBA All-Star hubby Tony Parker has been chosen to grace the cover of the global edition of Electronic Arts' NBA Live 09.

Meaning, Parker's 26-year-old mug and San Antonio Spurs uniform will be frontin' in North America for the first time, starting Oct. 7, and then everywhere else where video games are sold Oct. 14.

"I have a long history with EA Sports," the Belgian-born, French-bred Parker said. "I've been on the cover in France for five years straight, and I've been playing NBA Live for as long as I've played basketball. It's a real honor for me as a European player to now be represented on the worldwide cover."

It was beginning to look as if Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria Parker was starting to become a wife in desperate need of attention from her hubby. 

After all, Tony Parker has missed out on some big events over the last few months, including the opening of Eva's restaurant, Beso, as well as her birthday party.

Yeah, we know, he's a big-time basketball player, so we'll cut him a little slack for being on the road.
