Winehouse Wriggles Out of Charges, Again

The arm of British law apparently isn't long enough to snare Amy Winehouse.

For the second time in as many months, the trouble-prone Grammy winner has evaded formal charges following a police investigation, this time in connection with a video showing the singer talking about, and allegedly taking, drugs.

"Police have confirmed that no action will be taken against Amy Winehouse in relation to an investigation into a video handed to them in January," the singer's rep, Tracey Millers, told E! News.

"Amy is pleased to be able to move on and concentrate on music and particularly looks forward to seeing her fans again at eagerly awaited festival performances this summer."

The 24-year-old was arrested in connection with a series of seemingly illicit goings-on on the video, first shown on the Sun tabloid's website in January and subsequently handed over to London's finest, after voluntarily turning up for questioning at a police station a week ago.

After grilling Winehouse for nine hours over the footage, which showed the "Rehab" crooner inhaling fumes from a pipe of unspecific origin, the Metropolitan Police released her on unconditional bail. While she was originally ordered to return to the police station later this month, she is no longer obligated to do so as the matter has been deemed closed by the cops.

The singer wasted no time getting back into the swing of things Tuesday night, joining equally beleaguered pal Pete Doherty in London to celebrate his first solo postlockup gig.

Also worth celebrating: Both managed to make it to Wednesday without being busted again.

Steve-O Walks the Not-Guilty Walk

Steve-O wore a shirt and left the schtick at home.

The Jackass daredevil was standing tall as E! News caught up with him after court Tuesday, where he pleaded not guilty to felony cocaine possession stemming from a March 3 bust at his Hollywood apartment following a run-in with a neighbor.

"I'm always gonna be me, but I'm 64 days clean. I feel good," Steve-O, whose parents named him Stephen Glover, told our crew, also pointing out the self-help book he was toting, Bringers of the Dawn, which, per Amazon.com, "points out a creative and positive way to turn on our inner light and underlines the principle of commitment to spiritual growth."

"Sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll was something I thought was good," Steve-O said. "I really ran away from my problems, they caught up to me, and now I'm not running anymore."

Today's preliminary hearing was continued to June 3.

DMX Busted at Home for Pot, Pit Bulls

DMX, Mugshot

DMX apparently isn't one for facing the music of the night.

Three days after getting busted for a months-old traffic violation, the actor-rapper was arrested early Friday at his Phoenix-area home on suspicion of animal abuse and felony drug possession following a search of the house and, before that, a brief standoff with police when he attempted to shut himself up in his bedroom.

According to the Maricopa County sheriff's office, a SWAT team executed a search warrant on DMX's Cave Creek, Ariz., residence at about 3 a.m. in connection with a seven-month-old investigation into reports that the Cradle 2 the Grave star had a number of malnourished pit bulls on his property.

"A guy like this DMX character with all his money and fame has no excuse for not providing proper care for his animals," said Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. "He has a long criminal history and obviously has no respect for the law."

Amy Winehouse is in the doghouse for the second time in as many weeks, arrested again—this time in connection to alleged possession of a controlled drug—after voluntarily turning up at a London police station for questioning.

The Grammy-winning singer appeared at an east London station this afternoon for grilling on her involvement in a video leaked to Britain's Sun, which the ever-vigilant tabloid in turn handed off to the London Metropolitan Police last January, featuring Winehouse talking about and allegedly taking drugs.

"Amy Winehouse voluntarily attended a London police station today by appointment," publicist Tracey Miller told E! News. "She was arrested in order to be interviewed and is cooperating fully with inquiries. The interview relates to a video handed to police earlier this year."
