There'll be no more surprise set visits for Uma Thurman.

Jack Jordan, the 37-year-old former mental patient who last month was convicted of stalking and harassing the actress, has been sentenced to three years' probation for his court-disapproved methods of courting, getting his wish—though not the prosecution's—of avoiding time behind bars.

"I'm terrified of being incarcerated again," he told the court before his sentencing. "My greatest wish is that I had known sooner that I was putting fear into the heart [of Thurman]."

While prosecutors pushed for the maximum sentence of one year in prison for the conviction on aggravated harassment , New York State Supreme Court Justice Gregory Carro opted to have Jordan serve probation in his home state of Maryland with the condition that he receive outpatient psychiatric treatment.

During the course of the trial, Jordan's attorney acknowledged that he suffered from schizophrenia and is bipolar.

As for his stalking count, Jordan was sentenced to time already served.

Carro also imposed a five-year protective order barring Jordan from any contact with Thurman, who was not present in the courtroom for the sentencing. Carro warned that should he violate any of the terms of his sentence, including any attempt at directly or indirectly contacting Thurman, he would face jail time.

On May 6, Jordan was found found guilty of one count of stalking and one count aggravated harassment, the result of more than two years spent in relentless and unreciprocated pursuit of the Kill Bill star, which at one point included threats of suicide.

An emotional Thurman took the stand in the trial last month, saying she and her family found his behaviors "terrifying" and "disturbing."
