DMX on the Lam Again

Another day, another legal problem for DMX.

Judges in two New York cities have issued bench warrants for the trouble-prone rap star's arrest after he failed to appear at court hearings for two separate driving offenses.

DMX, real name Earl Simmons, was MIA at a pretrial conference Tuesday in White Plains City Court, stemming from a June 2 incident in which police pulled the Ruff Ryder over in his SUV for speeding, making an unsafe lane change, driving without a seat belt and driving with a suspended license.

Judge Brian Hansbury subsequently gave him until 2 p.m. Wednesday to answer to the charges or end up a wanted man. Apparently, DMX chose to go with the latter.

"He's got two options. Either he can be picked up and jailed at any time or he turns himself him in, posts $5,000 bail and schedules a new court date," court clerk Jennifer Ruggiero told E! Online. "If he does the latter, he can come in and appear without being taken into custody.

Meanwhile, X also skipped out on an appointment with Yonkers City Court on Wednesday, resulting from his October citation for driving with a suspended license. That absence, in turn, earned him a bench warrant from Judge Charles Wood, who's presiding over that case.

His attorney, Murray Richman, was unavailable for comment Thursday.

In an earlier interview with the Associated Press, Richman stated the rapper was in Arizona as of Tuesday and had given his word that he'd be in New York for both hearings, but that he did not know his client's current whereabouts.

"He said he missed a flight," Richman told AP.  "He's always missing flights."

According to the legal eagle, Hansbury agreed that if DMX makes himself available within the next two weeks, the judge will grant him a chance to explain himself before ordering that the $25,000 bond he initially put up after his June bust be forfeited.

Of course, arrest warrants are nothing new for the Grand Champ rapper, who has racked up an impressive rap sheet, including multiple driving infractions.

In June 2004, DMX was collared at New York's Kennedy Airport for attempting to steal a car and impersonating a federal agent. He pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment that December and received a conditional discharge and the suspension of his driver's license.

The following April, the emcee was nabbed for driving with a suspended license after he plowed his car into a police cruiser.  That incident and another speeding ticket in Westchester landed him 60 days in the clink.

But the trouble didn't stop there.

In May 2006, DMX caused a commotion aboard a flight to London when he refused to put on his seat belt.  He was subsequently taken into custody at London's Heathrow Airport and released with a caution.

And last June, Simmons spent two days in jail after failing to show up for a court date related to a speeding incident among other offenses.
